| Buenos Aires | Need advice from tangueros Posted: Wed April 2, 2008 06:49 PM UTC
Intend to tango and need recommendations on tango houses,
B&Bs or apartment rentals. I am thinking about staying in either Recoleta or San Telmo. Gracias! |

I'm not a big tango head but my friends are.
I like Catedral. Salon Canning is famous. There are milongas in San Telmo and Belgrano outdoors. La Viruta is a superfun spot with a very diverse crowd. Google tango schedules in buenos aires and you will come up with several sites listing where the milongas are every day. I can't tell you about specific places in those areas, just about them. Recoleta is the richest area of town, so that's an entirely different experience. San Telmo is more traditionally a tango neighborhood. Both are equidistant to the center but Recoleta is closer to Palermo if you intend to head there at all.

Hi Flipsy!
I have recently returned from Buenos Aires and loved it! I was staying in Recoleta. It was a great location to stay. I booked my apartment via ByT Argentina. The staff were very helpful and cooperative. http://www.bytargentina.com/ There are hundreds of milongas in Buenos Aires. During my stay I visited severa. My favourites, each on its own way, were Milonga Parakultural http://www.parakultural.com.ar/ and La Viruta http://www.lavirutatango.com/ Hope you enjoy your visit of Buenos Aires! mira
