Bratislava Budget Accommodation
Posted: Wed April 2, 2008 09:22 AM UTC
Have went through a lot of hostels, a private room for two costs at least 50euro. I believe the same price is good enough to stay in a hotel as well? Any hotel/hostel around the price could you recommend? The euro is 20% higher than the time I started planning for this trip.  I am okay with mix-dorm but my friend has never done that. Thanks.

Hi Poling,

I guess, 50 euro for a two bed room in a hostel is enough. I can look for some tips for You, but where would You like to stay? I mean - do You prefer a quiet place, or You donīt mind a busy one ect. How many nights would You like to stay there? Are You going to see only Bratislava, or another places too?

Try looking on www.booking.com We found a room at the Crowne Plaza in Bratislava for Euros50/night, so you might be lucky! Btw, the room was excellent, with a wonderful view of the city.

I don't know about Bratislava, but in Europe I found several hostels that have bigger dorms only for women. Maybe your friend (if it is a 'she' feels more at ease then to do so. Anyway, just my two cents...

When do you want to go? During the summer some student dorms are converted to hostels. It is quite a basic accommodation, but viable (at least I managed to live in one of them for 5 years :-)

Yes, I need only one day in Bratislava on 10/5.
We will do a hostel as the price should be lower than hotel. There are a number of choices from hostelworld, any one you could recommend? Thanks again.

As I said, Katamongara, we found the deal at the Crowne Plaza for 50 euros per night on www.booking.com The 50 euros was for the room for 2 people. It is not a standard rate but one which came up on www.booking.com It is always worth a try to see if there are any deals.

I can only give you advice concerning location, but at the hostelworld there are many reviews, so I would believe their rating. Mlada Garda is about 20 mins by tram from the center. Patio, Downtown and Blues are definitely better located if the city center is what you are after.

Well, I have slept in this one. Rooms are clean and pleasant. http://www.supernavigator.sk/navigator/profile_firm.php?id=12021467
You can make reservation here
http://www.travelguide.sk/reserve.asp?lang=eng&;prg=hg&status=reserve&id=53292
A bus stop to the centre is next to the pension, it takes about 10 min there.
Mlada Garda must be cheaper of course, but this accomodation is more comfortable.
