Have went through a lot of hostels, a private room for two costs at least 50euro. I believe the same price is good enough to stay in a hotel as well? Any hotel/hostel around the price could you recommend? The euro is 20% higher than the time I started planning for this trip.  I am okay with mix-dorm but my friend has never done that. Thanks.

I stayed at Greg-Tom hostel which was booked online through hostels.com. I was travelling alone and found it to be centrally located with friendly staff. I believe they have 1 double room (with double bed) and the rest are dorms. The hostel is small and prices range from 23-35 USD per person which includes breakfast. I met lots of people there and enjoyed my stay!

I am at greg and tom hostel right this minute in a private room for 3 people for 200 ZLT which is about $90. For $30 each this is the nicest hostel I have ever seen, in fact, won hostelworlds "hostel of the year" in 2007. It is nicer then most hotels I have been to.

I stayed at the Wielopole which though a little more expensive was still good value for what was about at the time and handy in the centre.
Has nice single and twin and double rooms.
