Hi, there is plenty to see in two days in Brunei.
You can wander around the water villages, visit the mosque (fantastic), chinese temple (it's a bit different), palace museum, do a waterway tour see the monkeys and or croc's. Travel from one end of the country to the other! It is not a cheap place, not like Thailand, but not too bad either; no alcohol available for sale at all (you can bring in duty free), shopping isn't too bad in the one major mall near the night markets. There are some great food outlets, Indian, Chinese, Malay I was there 4 days and managed to keep myself busy. Only hassle was that public transport stops at 6.00pm so taxi's by myself added to the costs.... Have a great stay

cafank is right. I was there for 1 Day and 1 night in January. We did the floating village, who's the biggest in the world and the boat tour to look for wildlife. In Brunei you find the Proboscis Monkey. You find these monkeys only in the Malaysian Borneo. Very unusal animal. You can spend easely 2 days in Brunei.
Have fun

best to hire a car, and maybe a driver cum guide, go on a road trip to see the whole of brunei, plus maybe miri or limbang in sarawak, premium is only 53cents per litre, driving rules same as uk n aussie, nasi campur is only $1.00 to $2.00 at sumbangsih...
kota kinabalu is only 350kms away, a road trip is about 6 hrs, thru 8 border posts, and is doable over 2 days n one night during off peaks ie outside school and public holidays.. do extend your stay, it's worth it!
