I was wondering if I can extend my 3 month tourist visa by travelling to the bahamas, canada or mexico from the united states? Thank you! Rolf |

I'm going to assume you're actually referring to a 90-day (NOT three months, so keep track of your exact days) visa WAIVER, in which people from certain countries can visit the US without any visa. The countdown starts the day you arrive in the U.S., even if you then travel to Canada the same day. To reset the 90 days, you must cross an ocean (ie, to Europe or Asia) or to South America and then wait a few weeks. http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/business And, in all case, if the US immigration agent concludes you are trying to beat the system (and let's face it, you are), s/he can refuse to allow you to enter. If you want to visit the US for more than 90 days, then get a visa. A rather torturous process, I've been told, but pretty much your only choice.
