Hi, i'm staying in bergamo for 1 night before travelling to malcesine by train, we are looking to stay in a nice and comfortable but cheap hotel next to the train station as we don't want to walk far because we have our elderly grandmother with us for the trip.

Have a look at www.venere.com. It's a reliable site which is used by many VT-ers, and has honest guest reviews.
The hotels have useful map locators too, so you can choose the most convenient area in which to stay.

Stayed here a few years ago - was a fine little hotel and not expensive. As close as you can get to the train station - literally across the road. Has an elevator, I think. Google Earth program is very good for looking up hotels etc. Excellent tool. Even the Google website in the Google Maps section is of great help when trying to get your bearings, find accommodation etc. So, I would say try the: Albergo Piemontese S.P.A. Piazza Marconi Guglielmo, 11 24122 Bergamo (BG), Italy 035 242629 Lots of websites will book this hotel for you, including booking.com, tripadvisor.co.uk (which searches multiple boking sites for you to try and find best price) and most likely Expedia.co.uk Good luck and enjoy your stay. Don't miss the Citta Alta if you can help it.
