| Lisbon | Rede express bus station in Lisbon Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 05:44 PM UTC
I've been hunting around trying to find details on buses from Lisbon to Evora. I've found the rede express website but its all in Portugese and does not seem to say where the buses leave from.
I have found one reference to ARCO DO CEGO and another for Terminal Sete Rios Can anyone advise. Thanks |

Mel,
I believe REDE Express's main bus terminal is in Sete Rios and it should say that outside, or at least this was how it was last October when I took their service to the Alentejo coast. They might also service from the bus terminal located in Saldanha, the area around the Universidade da Lisboa, where buses leave from to points in Spain. Both bus terminals by the way are very easy access thru the metro depending on whereabout in Lisboa you'd actually be staying. If you're worried about getting a seat for Evora, you shouldn't; the service to Evora is very frequent, your wait for the next one would be 1/2 hour tops. There's also the train but the bus more frequent. Email if you got other concerns, Lisboa is second home for me practically. You'd get even more info from VT members from Lisboa of course. Have a great trip.

The Saldanha bus station closed a couple of years ago.
All Rede Expresso and EVA buses now leave Lisbon from the Sete Rios Coach Station which is alongside Sete Rios Train Station and the Jardim Zoologico Metro Station. Buses operated by RENEX and other operators (including several Spanish ones) leave from the Gare Oriente Train Station. Certain regional buses (e.g. for places like Obidos and Almada) leaves from other locations such as Campo Grande and Praça de Espanha. Also have a look at this post on my blog where I have posted a copy of the Rede Expressos Lisbon to Evora timetable. http://barlaventostravelblog.blogspot.com/2008/04/
