Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Glasgow best place to watch the city lights
Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 05:39 PM UTC
this is a question that just popped into my mind when I was thinking of my last trip to Scotland -- I was driving back from the Isle of Skye and arriving in the Greater Glasgow area shortly before sunset. I will never forget the view of the city lights from a road somewhere in the area of Bearsden/Milngavie.

Now my question: which other places do you know of that have wonderful vistas of the twinkling city lights? Given the fact that Glasgow is low-lying and surrounded by hills there should be more!

Possibly at Gleniffer Braes near Paisley is the best view of teh Clyde Valley, the car park for the Robertson Park, known unofficailly as the Car Park in the Sky! 3-4 miles from Glasgow Airport terminal building

LOL... thanks for this... does the nickname only relate to the views or might there be other reasons to call it that way? ;)

wow... that's exactly what I was looking for. I especially like the pic with the huge sky and the shades in the landscape. I'll have to remember this one when in Scotland next time. It had actually occurred to me to look for vista points within the Clyde Murshiel country park -- should be not too far away from that spot in Pāislig :)
