| Liverpool | Holiday apartments (self-catering apartments) in Liverpool Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 03:46 PM UTC
I am planning to spend a week in Liverpool in May. I've been told that renting a holiday apartment would be cheaper and more convenient (mostly because of the possibility to cook and do the laundry yourself) and I have been searching around but the holiday apartments I have found so far are all much more expensive then hotels. Am I searching in the wrong places or was my friend wrong when she said they would be cheaper? I am looking for a holiday apartment that costs no more then £280 per week (preferably even less), would it be possible to find one in that price range?

Self-catering is only usually cheaper than hotels/hostels if there is more than one of you. 280GBP is not much for a week's let (40GBP per night is not much at all, to be honest)
This site: http://visitliverpool.com/site/accommodation/accom is the official tourist board, and lists all self-catering options. You might be lucky, but I think you will find it cheaper to stay in a hostel or, possibly, a bed & breakfast establishment (though 40GBP is not much for them either). I think a hostel will be your best bet, although there are only 3 and none offer cooking facilities.. Explore what's available on: http://www.visitliverpool.com/site/accommodation/s

Thank you for your answer!
I was afraid my budget might not be enough for self-catering apartments so I will start exploring other options (hotels/hostels etc).

There is quite a lot of well priced apartments in Southport - Southport is a great town and only 40 minutes in to Liverpool on regular trains.
