What about a day at the seaside? There is a beach at Pirita which is only about 20 minutes by bus from Tallinn. I visited it in winter when it was snowing like crazy but apparently it is very popular with the Estonians in the summer.

You can climb to the top of Oleviste Church Tower.
Open: 1.04-1.11 Mon-Sun 10-18
Price: 30 EEK / 10 EEK
Location: Lai 50
Map http://www.tourism.tallinn.ee/map?Param_markers=542433|6589514|marker_geocode|Lai%2050%20(Oleviste%20Church%20Tower)
The 13th-century St. Olav’s Church once boasted the tallest spire in the whole world. Nowadays the 124-metre steeple still dwarfs most of Tallinn’s buildings and remains an important symbol of the town.
There you can see a magnificent and dizzying view of all of Old Town, Toompea hill and the port.

Tigers, wolves, elephants, owls and about 350 other kinds of creatures can be found at the Tallinn Zoo, which boasts one of the largest collections in this part of Europe. The extensive grounds include various habitats, a number of aquariums and an elephant house.

I have another suggestion.
If you are looking for sporty activity, then try go to Nõmme Seikluspark (NÕMME ADVENTURE PARK)
Address Külmallika 15a, Tallinn, 12617
Phone +3726088029; +37256159160
Open every day since 10.00, track is open until 19.00

Pricelist:
Mon-Sun / bargain-time Mon-Fri 10:00-15:00
Adults 260,00 EEK/200,00 EEK
young (under 18y) 200,00 EEK/150,00 EEK
children, growth 115-140 sm (3 first track) 140,00 EEK/100,00 EEK
park young children 80,00 EEK/60,00 EEK
Family(min. 3 person) -10%
group 6-10 person -10%
group 10+ person -15%
instructor accompanying, price per hour 200,00 EEK/200,00 EEK

If you looking for alternation, suspense or adventure, then this is the right place.
Biggest in north-Estonia, in Nõmme Adventure Park (opened in all year), you can get the fresh vertical wow, suspense higher of ground and glitter in you eyes.

Across the trees there are dangle 5 track with different level of difficulty and with different height (1,5- 9m, summary lengt ca 650m).
There is fast abseils on monkey-railways, there is appropriate activitys for all.
A litlle self-crossing, balance and adroitness are important keywords.
The safety guarantee is suitability of tracks for rigid safety-requirement, instruction and experienced instructors.

The surplus value is:
big Nõmme park forest, duck on the ponds, big outdoor swimming pools of Nõmme Sportcenter, lighted public health sport tracks.
And all this only 15 min far from center of city

It is very funny place, I've been in there several time and dare to suggest ...
