| Monteverde | Affordable Accommodation? Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 09:20 PM UTC
We're going to spend a couple of days in Monteverde and need an affordable place to stay. I would prefer a small hotel/B&B. Hostel would do as long as there are individual rooms as opposed to dorm style. Our max budget is $40-50 per night for two people.
Since we're not renting a car I would prefer somewhere closer to the site. |

The hotel Don Taco was not too bad. We stayed in one of the cabinas which was $50 a night, so I would assume that the hotel rooms are even cheaper (think they are $40). Breakfast is included and It is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel into Santa Elana where you can catch all the buses for the various tours

You could look into Pension Santa Elena in Monteverde. Mixed reviews. Supposedly the dorm rooms aren't very nice but the private rooms are okay. My son lived there for a couple of months and had no problem.
