Antigua Guatemala Am I foolish to worry about bugs/insects in July in Antigua?

I freak out at bugs, all bugs, insects, spiders, everything and I want to study Spanish in Antigua this summer, most of July- how worried should I be? People laugh at my reactions to bugs and I'm really worried about this fear. Advice please before I make plans. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bugs aren't too bad in antigua. spiders are there but not poisonous.

Remember, bugs don’t want to be near you either.

We didn't have problems with bugs/insects in Antigua when we were there last year. Then again we stayed in a pretty nice place.
