Would welcome any info on the best way to get to and from Newlands cricket stadium and Camps Bay. Train, car, bus, travel time etc.

I used to live in Cape Town and always drove as we had a car. I never used public transport in Cape Town as apart from not needing to, we were always told it wasn't very safe. We knew people that used to use the train (locals) and they didn't like it as it wasn't always safe and they'd been mugged. I take it you are there for a period of time, if so, rent a car. It's a great way to see the city. If you just need the transport from the stadium to Camps Bay as a one-off, get a taxi.....but not a mini-cab (van) as they are extremely unsafe. They cram people in, speed and are often in accidents. The locals use these to get from the townships as it is cheap.

Driving by car( which is the best way to do it) from camps bay - it will take you about 5-7 minutes to the CBD - newlands is about 15 minutes from the CBD - so you are looking at approx 20 minutes

Yes I agree, it will take you about 20 minutes. Allow for a bit longer if you are travelling on a week day during the afternoon peak hour traffic leaving the city. Sometimes it can be bumper to bumper.

the cheapest way IF YOU DONT HAVE A CAR is to get there by Rikkis Taxi (you pay by zone) or Excite Taxi (8Rand/KM). Rikkis 086 174 5547 Excite 021 418 4444.
