Las Vegas Where to stay near the airport
Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 09:18 PM UTC
We arrive in Las Vegas late on a Saturday night in May. We'll be staying on the strip the following Mon-Wed, but on Sun-Mon we're renting a car and going to the Grand Canyon (staying over there on Sunday night).

So we just need an inexpensive place to sleep in Vegas on Saturday night - we want it to be clean, easy to get to from the airport (by a free shuttle on Sat night), easy to rent a car on Sunday morning, then a way to get to the strip when we return the car (hopefully a free shuttle).

Can anyone recommend a hotel we should look at?

Thanks, Andrew

I stay at a very nice 2 story Hotel called St. Tropez, located on Harmon St. just across the street from the Hard Rock Cafe & Casino, aabout 2 blocks to the strip and 3 miles from the airport. The prices start at 98 Dollars up and they do have a complimentary airport shuttle that will pick you up. There website is: www.sttropezlasvegas.com

Try Sam's Casino on Boulder Highway. We just stayed there on a Saturday for $139 and Sunday for $49 and they have a free shuttle to the strip. Not sure about a shuttle to the airport, but it isn't that far and would probably be less than $20. It is outside of the metro area and in the direction you will want to be to head to the GC. It is a fun place to stay and the food places are pretty good.

We were in a similar situation a couple of years ago and stayed at the Best Western McCarran Inn which is almost on the airport. It is 5 minutes from the car rental lots. It is basic but clean and certainly convenient. The normal American motel breakfast is included. You can book at: http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?iata=&promoCode=&corpID=&propertyCode=29058#null

There's a Motel 6 on E Tropicana - very close to the airport.

Most often you can get a room for little to nothing, when you sign up on Hotel web sites. Find a hotel that you think you may like, and sign up with that particular hotel. I'm not sure what you want to spend, but you can find a hotel for under 50.00 a night, believe it or not, a lot of nice hotels other rooms for little.
try picking a few hotels, and sign up, or just check out their prices, I think you'll be surprised. For your research: http://vegas.cc Have fun!!!
