| Venice | Sculptures on Grand Canal May 07 Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 05:34 PM UTC
I continue to try to identify sculptures which appeared along the Grand Canal when I visited Venice last April/May 07. They were very whimsical, large figures which appeared to be metal with a verdigris finish. I do have photos I could share if someone would be willing to take a guess. Friends who have returned tell me they are not there now, so they must have been a temporary outside exhibition. As I recall they were all along the Cannaregio and San Marco side of the Grand Canal, quite visible from the Canal.

I have no idea. Have not been able to get an answer. If I could figure out how to post photos, I have several very good ones because I found these absolutely charming. Just no luck at identifying them.

you could put them on your home page or your venice page
you've got a passport pic up so you must have a few clues if you are really keen to know and no one answers - google venice bienannale - bound to be lots about it plus pics

I did establish a home page and put a photo of one of the sculptures there. Hopefully, this will generate quick identification and I can move beyond this mystery.

I established a home page and posted a photo of one of the sculptures. Hopefully, this will be immediately recognizable to someone. I really can't believe that as enthralled as I was with these figures that I left Venice without identifying them.

Hi again. As far as we remember there have been similar forum question some time ago. The sculptures are probably from the exhibition SEQUENCE (from the collection of Francois Pinault). We have seen the exhibition and have catalogue. Send us the photo and there are chances we can identify the sculptures.
With all the best wishes I&V

I would love to share the photo with you, but I am totally perplexed how to reduce the photo and also how to use the VT e-mail. I could probably have someone direct how to reduce the photo to a small file size, but
I haven't totally figure out how the VT e-mail system works. Do I just send it to "zvrlj" and it will automatically go to you? I will check Francois Pinault "Sequence" Exhibit out, however, in the meantime.
