Torres del Paine Travel Forum

What is the best way to travel from the Explora Lodge in Torres del Paine to El Calafate or to Los Nostros near Perito Moreno. We want to avoid backtracking to Punta Arenas. Thanks. David

I think you have to travel to Puerto Natales by bus and change buses to El Calafate. This leg takes about 5 hours (depending on the border crossing); see for schedule: http://www.turismo.elcalafate.gov.ar/ > transportes > terrestres

From El Calafate to your hotel Los Notros you have to take another bus or a taxi.

you don´t need toget to punta arenas....you can go from torres to puerto natales (prox 2,5 hours on bus) and them from puerto natales to calafate (3-4 hours on bus).
many agencies in elcalafate offer the trip to torres del paine right from el calafate, but i wouldn´t reccommend you do that.....it´s more expensive, and puerto natales is worth visiting....

We went directly from T del P to Calafate , and we crossed the border when they were saying on the TV that Pinochet had passed away , for this reason I think that it took us more time to pass the border
