Hi
I was in Montreal last year and what i know, the island named Notre-Dame and all pavillon built for expo 67 are change vocation. U.S. pavillon are now the Biosphere (museum), the French pavillon and Quebec pavillon are both a Casino, The attraction parc LA Ronde still there. All other pavillon are desapear. The vocation of the Ste-Helene and Notre-Dame islands are change for be a public parc. A guide in a city tour told me the old port and the old city of montreal are now the most popular tourist area since 15 years now. And the city have now the biggest underground market center. Maybe is fun in the winter or in a rain day but me i prefer to be outside. The have different city tour by buses, boats and them with a jetboat going true the rapids. (i did that with my mother, we was completely soak but very amazing tour, safe but very special.

I'm afraid there is almost nothing left today. There are a few building still there, but they would be of little interest to anyone hoping to rekindle a memory. You know about the casino, but apart from that there is only the Quebec pavilion, the shell of the US, and a few administrative buildings. The wonderful Calder sculpture, thankfully, is still in it's place near the old site of the Netherlands pavilion.
If you have a keen eye, you may find a few hidden lighting fixture which are still around, but you have to know where to look. Of course, Habitat is still standing at Cite de Havre, as are more boring buildings like the old CBC studios and the Expo67 Administration Building.

Sadly, you are a bit late. And I am not making fun of you. 2007 being the 40th aniversary of the Expo, there was an exhibition in a museum about it. It is now over.
That being said, and not being a montrealer myself, I can say that for quebecers older than me it was a highlight of Québec's XXth century's history. In an era were lots was changing, it is considered as the moment that open the eyes of quebecers to the world. Getting better of, with better wages, quebecers soon start travelling around the world. From that time, Montreal got more restaurants with all types of cuisine : japanese, thai, corean, tibetan, afghan, even ethiopian ! And most are pretty unexpensive. Hope you will enjoy your coming back ! Yvon LeD
