try www.imoti.com.mk or www.skopjeonline.com.mk
The first one will ask you wish city, just click on Skopje and you are ready to start. skopjeOnline is website for Skopje, and has everything, from rental agencies, to restaurants and cinema showings to niteclubes and more. Is your virtual guide trough Skopje. Just as gude, I wouldnt pay more than 150 euros for furnished studio or 170/200 Euro for one bedroom flat. If you are foreiner in Skopje, that doesnt automaticly mean you have to be rippd off. Also try the adds in the local paper. www.dnevnik.com.mk www.vest.com.mk www.vreme.com.mk all of this papers have language selection on their website, choose ENG an you are off. Another thing, is that you do not want to live in the center of town, too expencive. Try this locations, Karposh II,III and III, Kapishtec and Kozle, on one end and trendy Aerodrom on the other. Aerodrom is some distance from the center, but is very close to train and bus station, and is like village in the middle of the City, selfsuficient. The rest are on the northen part of the town center and are just off but close enough not to be too far way from the action. Skopje, has very funny geographical setting, the City grow along the river Vardar, and is set between to mountains, so is narow and long. Hope this answer some of your questions. Valentina

i have to disagree with MacedonianUK. As a person that lives in skopje i will have to recommend taking an apartment in the center of the town or closer to the place you work if you have needs to go there on daily basis. And by center i dont mean the main square but walking distance from it. The public transport in skopje is awful, and taxis are not that expensive but in the rush hours (which in skopje these days means pretty much from 7:00 to 18:00) can be costly. well placed apartment on a long term is far better option and it can save you lot of nerves, and when you make the calculations at the end of the month, it can be just slight difference in money.
i will not advice you to try to find apartment through agencies, coz they will probably try to rip you off when they see you are foreigner. just few newspapers and some local with good knowledge of the city will do the trick for finding a good deal.

C'mon Alek, I think that my info is sound!!
Yes the public transport in SK it's stinks, but taxis are dirt cheap. Anyway you can walk from Kapishtec or Kozle to work ,if that is indeed in the center of town. And I give OP the prices he should aim when he is hunting for flat. As I said if he is foreigner, thasn't mean that he has to be ripped off. Just for and compereson, my cousin live in Karposh II, in a great furnished one bedroom flat, with lift and all other amenities, and she pays 170 Euros a month + heating and electricity. Oh, make sure the flat has AC!!! As the summers in SK are pure hell!! Is soooooooo HOT!!!! Happy hunting!!! Valentina

ok again as a person that was renting apartments in skopje for 6 years, lived in karpos 3, aerodrom, novo lisice, karpos 2, karpos 1 (in order as i lived from 2000-2006) and now hopefully lives in the center of skopje in his own apartment (i would like to point out that the listed home town Ohrid is just my birth town)...
when renting apartment in skopje its pretty crucial to know where you will need to go on daily basis. if your work is in the center of the town i recommend apartment on the outskirts of the center (10-15mins walk to the main square), kapistec(10-20mins), karpos 1(15-20mins), and eventually karpos 2(20-25mins). the renting prises on one room flats vary less then on bigger apartments so thats why i said closer to the center better. on the other side of the city its Aerodrom. if i presume that you will work in the center, i would definitely not recommend it. newest and biggest part of the city, most polluted, spreads out from some 20mins walk from the center up to 1hour+. just for comparison, i live in the outskirt of the center and the apartment just next to mine is rented from two student girls. its in a brand new building one room apartment and it costs 200EUR. its some 10mins closer to the main square than the apartment Valentinas cousin is renting and it costs just 30EUR more. And believe you me, for 30EUR you do wanna get into brand new building and 10mins closer to the center over the old buildings in Karpos area. And yes, it has AC too!!! :)
