What is the name of the best restaurant after 47 years? Hard to go there without knowing the name!

Not sure about 47 years, but you might be thinking of Canlis, which is one of our top restaurants, and has been around quite a long time. I'm sure you could Google it. Good luck! (And by the way, its food and service is superb).

Yes, I agree, it's probably Canlis. Canlis is very well known in the area. It is very expensive and I believe you need to wear a top coat and tie to eat at the restaurant.

I just looked at their website, www.canlis.com, and they were founded in 1950, so it might not be the same restaurant the poster is referring too. And, while it is expensive, we have other restaurants here that are more expensive. Yes, Canlis does prefer that men wear a coat-and-tie (sports coat OK), and we always dress up when we go there. What's amazing is the all-valet parking is tipped off ahead when you are about to depart, and "remembers" your car, and it's already waiting when you step out from dinner. Excellent service and very fine food!
