| Las Vegas | any cheap deals for hotels on mid strip? Posted: Thu March 27, 2008 11:27 AM UTC
i'm coming on 17th May-20th May, i think there's some big event on these dates because the price of hotels are sky high!!
my budget is around USD100 or slightly more than this. so far, only Imperial has the cheapest deals which is around USD380 plus taxes. any other cheaper deals for Imperial or any other hotels on mid strip? really need help, thanks! |

Sahara = US$86.25 for the dates you are looking for
http://www.lasvegas.com/bookingagent/hotel/SearchR Its not Mid Strip but its within budget! There's about 30 or so hotels on that site under your budget but not 'mid strip' - depends on how much your want to compromise. Do not know the website - have not used. Alternatively, www.hotelclub.net have 3 hotels on 'The Strip' that come within overall budget - other than Circus Circus - I don't know them, but I know Circus Circus isn't mid strip!

Did you try the other Harrah's properties?
http://www.harrahs.com/destinations/las-vegas/hote Best Western (www.bestwestern.com) has less expensive hotels, however you need to check the distance to where you want to be. So if you select the *address* of one of the casinos in the strip, for instance the Venetian http://www.venetian.com/ then go to mapquest (www.mapquest.com) and use "Directions" to see the distance between the hotel you choose and the Venetian. Again, only using Venetian = "Central LV Point". Beware that Vegas in July can get to 100 Farenheit, dry heat. If you have a car and is parked in the sun, you can barely touch the steering wheel. If you don't have a car, you don't want to have to do a lot of walking or waiting in the sun for a bus. Everyone goes to Vegas in the summer, it's just good to be aware of the conditions before you select a hotel. Also, you don't want to get in the seedy part of town. If you have a car you could stay a little outside, there's a Hampton Inn in Summerlin (Hampton Inn is a Hilton brand) - has free parking. When you drive to the strip you may have to pay parking. Do note there's a big shopping center where the parking could be less, but I'm speculating quite a bit on the parking situation, because I *never* have a car any more when I go to a conference. When we used to drive from California Vegas was a much smaller place! Vegas is host to many big events throughout the year, some times several at the same time. I am attending a technical conference there (again) in May. One of the times we had this conference, there was also a porn conference in the same hotel! So you had I/T professionals mixed in with the porn guys - crazy! Note- if you happen to be flying *out* of Las Vegas, it is very important to leave for the airport three hours before your flight. If a couple of conferences are leaving town at the same time the security line can be never-ending!

There must be something going on, even for weekend rates, the prices I'm seeing are unusually high. I'd recommend staying at the Sahara booking through www.hotels.com. The average rate per night with those dates is $63 + tax and fees which comes out to equal a total of $71/night or $215/total. They have an instant 30% off promotion, which is why the rate is cheaper than Circus Circus. The hotel is on the strip, but the North end. They do have a monorail stop at the hotel and I would recommend buying a 3 day pass. There is usually no lines, they come often, much better than the buses and less expensive than taxis. Since you now would have about $100 extra, I'd book the show Le Reve at the Wynn. Get the front row seats (splash zone, don't worry, you won't get wet). Enjoy!

I sometimes stay at the Motel 6 on E Tropicana Rd. It's about 1/2 mile walk to the strip.

The Tropicana is really cheap but beter than the Imperial Palace - I wouldn't stay at the Imperial if you paid me. Depending on how "adventurous" you are, you could always try this (an article my friend wrote about going to Vegas and staying for 3 days without buying a hotel room): http://www.wuts-happening.com/whutshappening/2008/

You could try the Travelodge located between Planet Hollywood and the Monte Carlo. It’s not mid-strip in the same way as the Imperial Palace is but it’s close and you should be able to get rooms within your budget. A word of warning though, I was in Vegas last November and there was a lot of construction work going on in that area.
Here’s the web address for Travelodge http://www.travelodge.com/Travelodge/control/Booki Hope you find something that suits you and that you have a great time. Kind Regards Clive

Mid-strip your most resonable places are Casino Royale or Imperial Palace. However, you can stay up the strip at the Sahara very reasonably and take the monorail to get to and from mid-strip. The other option is staying at somewhere like the Gold Coast or Orleans, and they have a free shuttle to the strip at Bill's Gambling Hall(formerly Barbary Coast) which is mid-strip
