Small and grainy photo. Can't make out the architecture. Loads of cities with water and snow covered mountains. I think I see an old church tower, so I'm thinking Europe. The low flats look newish. Blue water and those mountains must be a serious range if there's still snow because it isn't winter.
I'm thinking Switzerland, Austria, indeed north Italy though I am not familiar there.

It cannot be Lago di Garda, the mountains close by are not that high to have that much snow. But it must be warm enough that this guy can wear a t-shirt. These iron handrails are typical for the northern Italian and Swiss lakes. Lago D'Orta?

Re: Mystery City Game Posted: Thu March 27, 2008 07:02 AM UTC
hmmmm, tough one...
I don't recognise anything. Could it be the alps in the background? In that case it could be many places. Depends also if the water is salt or fresh, or perhaps a river? Could be anywhere. I'll take a pick.... Torino?

I wonder if the mountains are the Southern Alps but I can't think of a 'city' with a backdrop and a waterfront like that.

Re: Mystery City Game Posted: Thu March 27, 2008 07:08 AM UTC
I think, many of us think Italy or Alps because of the buildings and the (?) fastening of the lake shore, with stone piles. But on the other hand, as we all have more Christmas time than spring - snow all over, it is maybe not likely to be here, if the photo was taken today or yesterday :-)
If it is New Zealand, I'm out. I was never there.
But Chile or Argentina, the lake area, could also be. But on the other hand, their shores are more flat, so they won#t have these piles of stones.
