Hi
Ryanair charge for any checked baggage and from what we saw at Girona you can check in as much as you want as long as you pay - two guys in front of us checked in camera and recording equipment on top of there own luggage and were charged 135 euro each for excess baggage - i assume they had checked one bag each and the rest was over limit

A Laptop Bag will count as a Bag but you could carry this on the plane if you only have your passprt & papers and your wallet with you - if yo ucarry this in a bag that will not fit into the Laptop Bag or Vise Versa you probably will not be allowed to carry both on.

Check Ryanair website for details of transfers into Munich or the Airport Website may have information for you - if no-one responds with ideas

As for wether in Munich again if you don't get any advise check on websites such as weather.com or weatherunderground - these site give you up to 10days worth of current weather conditions and some historical facts you could check out - hope someone else can help you better than this - but its a start anyway

Best Wishes
Julie

All information regarding baggage can be found on Ryanair's website. If you have baggage to go in the hold, then you will have to pay per item - it is cheaper to do this online before you fly rather than at the airport. The allowance is 15 kgs. You are allowed one piece of cabin baggage but whether the lap top counts as that, I will leave it up to other VTers to tell you. All I can say is that a couple of months ago when I was travelling via Ryanair, I did notice a couple of people with a hold-all plus a lap top but whether they had paid an extra amount, I don't know. Ryanair's website has lots of info.

Unless I'm missing something, Ryanair do not fly to Munich airport. Salzburg or Freidrichshafen are the closest they could get you.

I just wanted to second what bonio wrote. Ryanair does not fly to Munich.

For first hand answers on your questions see the FAQs on the Ryanair homepage:

If the Ryanair airport for Munich is Friedrichshafen, then the following may be of use.
http://www.fly-away.de/en/travelinformation/ground-transportation/train.html

and then click on the picture that says "Departure-Deutsche Bahn" and then follow the links. The link will come up in German but on the top right-hand side there is a selection of languages. I did a random search and it seems that from Friedrichshafen to Munich takes at least 2 hours 30 minutes (so much for "Munich") and the cost for a single ticket is 43 euros. Seems a lot of money. Perhaps you would do better to pay for a flight directly to Munich Airport and perhaps save yourself some money!! The train station is right there at the Friedrichshafen airport.

Friedrichshafen is not advertised as Munich by Ryanair, I just suggested the two closest airports they do fly from. If Misca told us where in Italy the journey starts from I'm sure there are alternative airlines who do fly to Munich.

I think if it has to be Ryanair, Salzburg would be the only feasible option. The transfer to Munich would be a bit more complicated involving a short bus ride from the airport to Salzburg railway station. IMHO staying a night in Salzburg would certainly give no reason for regrets, especially if the flight arrives late there. I don't think a train trip from Salzburg to Munich would take longer than 1,5 hours -- keeping in mind that even if you arrive at MUC proper, you must make a 40 minute S-bahn trip to downtown Munich.

We were in Munich last April and it was very cold. Of course we are from Florida so anything below 50 is cold to us. But it was in the 40's most of the time.

Hi Rhineroll!

I am told you are in a chair too!

I took Ryan Air from Luton to Vasteras SWE a few years ago. For the disabled, the only problem is that they restrict the number of wheelchairs per flight so you have to call their disabled phone line to alert them that you are in a chair.

Also, on Ryan Air...take as little baggage as possibe (carry on is best), when you are over the limit, they charge you thru the nose.

As for the wheelchair service, getting on and off, no problems at all!
