| Lima | Only night in Lima- April 16 Posted: Wed March 26, 2008 01:16 AM UTC
We are stopping through Lima- arriving at 430p on April 16 and leaving early the next morning.
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a few sites worth visiting in the early evening. Any restaurant suggestions? If anyone would like to meet up with us for a wander around Lima please let me know! Thanks in advance. |

I did the day tour of Lima, but there are nighttime tours avaialable. See weblink regarding the Lima by Night tour:
http://www.peru-explorer.com/lima_by_night.htm See my Lima page for my experience at La Dama Juana. This restaurant apparently offers cultural shows in the evenings. Goodluck & do enjoy Lima!

Another one:
Brisas del Titicaca: www.brisasdeltiticaca.com Else, as Marissa suggested, take an evening city tour. Or go to Miraflores (if you're not already staying there) and wslk around the Parque Central/Parque Kennedy-there's a local crafts market every evening from 5 pm and walk up the Av. Petit Thouars with its many shops. Around said Parque many restaurants: El Parquetito, La Tiendecita Blanca, Cafe cafe, Haiti, La Tranquera (3 blocks from the Ovalo on Av. Pardo). Larco Mar shopping center with many restaurants and view over the Pacific. Etc etc

Hi,
If you're looking for a non touristy restaurant I would recommend you La Bistecca which serves Argentinean fare but is really recommended. A dinner without wine costs 50 soles which is 17 USD. http://www.expatperu.com/detalle.php?topic_id=465 Don't know if you have heard about Gastón Acurio but he is one of the most famous Peruvian cooks and has a few restaurants throughout South America and one in Madrid. You can find an interview here: http://www.expatperu.com/detalle.php?topic_id=429 or on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaston_Acurio or check this really good blogspot about Peruvian food & restaurants: http://perufood.blogspot.com/ If you want to spend the night in a less posh restaurant my recommendations go for Antigua Taberna Queirolo in Pueblo Libre where you can taste Limeño & coastal food. I would also like to recommend you a cevichería but ceviche is mostly served for lunch or even as a breakfast after a night out as it kills a hangover (that’s what Peruvians say).
