I've been given postcards that my Dad wrote in 1942, whilst in a German prison, to his family who lived in Stryj. The address given is ul Prywytna/Przywytna??. My family were forced to leave Stryj around this time, so I have no further information. Would street names have changed, once the country became part of the Ukraine?

yes quite possibly as Ukraine was part of the greater Poland at one time but maybe a local here on VT will chime in with more specific knowledge. Udachi!

I have checked the street names - there is no Prywytna/Przywytna St. among the currently listed in Stryj. are there any other details that you have (located in proximity to some kind of buildings, churches, etc.)? and what exactly are you searching? the place where your dad had lived or his family members?

"Pryvitna" from Ukrainian means "friendly" - but probably street was remained later.
