Could you help me to find the best way from Brussels to Santander(Spain)by plane, the cheapest flight, or by train?

Depending when you want to go the best option would probably to go via London Stansted airport on Ryanair. You can fly from Brussels Charleroi to Stansted then from Stansted onto Santander. Prices do vary & luggage restrictions are quite tight but have a look at www.ryanair.com put your choice of dates in & see how it works out, Darren.

Depends on date: I read that Ryanair is stopping its flight from Charleroi Airport to Stansted (again) because they don't consider 75% occupancy sufficient, but I don't know at what date this takes effect. In any case, it has to be a better bet, if you go with Ryanair, to fly to Madrid or Valladolid and continue from there by train (http://gospain.about.com/od/transportation/qt/valladolidair.htm).
Check prices for your date of travel with Iberia and ("B-light" prices) Brussels Airlines, via Barcelona or Madrid: this has the advantage of bringing you right to Santander airport - and I found the Barcelona-Santander flight very scenic. This will at least give you a benchmark for other possibilities. You can also fly with them from Brussels to Bilbao, but it's 3 hours from there to Santander by narrow-gauge railway (FEVE: http://www.feve.es/).
If you are going to UIMP I believe they run a bus from Irun which may make it worthwhile going by train to Hendaye, but trains are not a particularly cheap option.
