Going to Hanoi in August, so can anyone help with the name od a nice 3-4 star hotel in the old quarter. Needs to be clean vlue for money. Dont want budget, not top of the range, but like the idea of something a little different, not you plastic touristy joint. Any Ideas?

Try the Zephyr or Church Hotel both have good locations (tho not in Old Quarter)

What's your budget?
In APril we're booked to stay at the Hanoi Elegance, which has very good tripadvisor reviews and is in the old town. http://www.hanoielegancehotel.com/default1.asp You need to specify which hotel you want when booking, but they are very helpful and will sort out things like Cambodian visas.
