| Trier | Trier train station Posted: Mon March 24, 2008 06:50 AM UTC
In April, I will be travelling via train from Oberwesel to Moselkern (my hotel is there), but I was thinking of taking the train all the way through to Trier to spend a couple of hours prowling over the roman ruins and then coming back the same day to Moselkern. Question: if I do this, does anyone know if the train station has luggage lockers or anywhere I can store my 2 bags safely for a couple of hours?

Trier main station has luggage lockers.
I just checked at the German railwebsite: http://www.bahnhof.de/site/bahnhoefe/de/bahnhofssu

Like Anke-Thea has already stated, the train station does have lockers. Your stuff will be fine there. The vast majority of what Trier has to offer can be seen in a few hours. Trier is one of my favorite German cities, so I felt rather obligated to respond here. In addition to the Roman ruins, try to add the following destinations on your Trier agenda:
1. The Judengasse (Jews' Alley) 2. The Spielzeugmuseum (Toy Museum) 3. The Spielzeugmuseum (Toy Museum), where it is said the Holy Robe (the one Jesus Christ wore during the Crucifixion) is held. The robe is displayed every fifty years or so. 4. Karl Marx's house.

Yep they got lockers and your stuff will be fine. Just dont lose the key.
Lots of stuff to do in Trier. Great roman ruins from the Trier Gate to the ruins of a bath house and if I recall correctly an arena. The museum is first rate too. Castles along the mosel and lots of great wine and Bitburger beer is first rate.
