Chicago has a wide selection of wine bars. If you are staying downtown, the closest one to you will be Cru which is in the Gold Coast on Delaware. There is also Bin 36 which is attached to the Sax Hotel next to the House of Blues. Cru will be more intimate. Bin 36 has its own wine shop. My favorite wine bar in Chicago is Webster's Wine bar. I got engaged here. It is a cozy house with couches and little tables. It is on Webster across from the Webster theatre. We also go to DOC which is next to Dunlay's on Clark on Clark Street at Wrightwood.

You could take the EL but there would be a walk from an EL Stop. You could take the Red line to North and Clybourn and walk to Webster (the bar is just west of Clybourn). It is a little over a mile away.
