| Seoul | 3-Day tours in Seoul Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 11:34 AM UTC
Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum. I've tried to search for an answer to my question, but without luck. I want to stop over in Seoul for 3-4 days on my way back from Singapore. Just wondering if there are any reputable tours that do 3-days of guided sight-seeing around Seoul including hotel and airport pickup/dropoff. I don't speak of a word of Korean and just want something "effortless" to participate in since I'll be alone for this leg of my trip. I really appreciate any feedback you might have.

Hi,
I stopped over in Seoul recently and did a very good guided roundtrip, offered and organised by Holiday Planners Co Ltd, Seoul (we were taken care by Ms Christine Cheong 82-2 336-3532) The tour was flawless, well organised and guided with good hotels and food, Have a look at http://tinyurl.com/yo63sh or write to operation@holidayplanners,co.kr Have a nice trip!

Getting around in Seoul is actually very easy thanks to the awesome public transportation network (mainly subway), so personally, I'd recommend to go off on your own.
However, if you're looking for an organized tour where you can simply lean back and enjoy, you might really want to check the above-mentioned tours. It will obviously be pretty costly but at least you don't have to worry about anything... Cheers, Robert

If you are going around Seoul, most of the places of interest such as the palaces, shopping districts etc are most accessible by subway. There is a very tourist friendly subway map. And the station staff can speak basic English. Moreover their lines are not as complicated as Tokyo's. For short distances in town, the taxi rates are very reasonable too. Just make sure you limit your rides within the city and not the outskirts.
The only time you probably really need a guided tour is for outskirt excursions such as the Korean folk Village, the North Korea- DMZ tour, Mt Sorak overnight or Nami island tour. Just be wary of its crazy prices!
