| Lisbon | Places to eat Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 10:40 AM UTC
Hi everyone. We'll be in Lisbon for a long weekend at the end of April and would like some recommendations on places to eat. The only catch is that we're vegetarians. I have read about a few places that are exclusively vegetarian. But I'd also like to know if there are other places (Indian and many asian restaurants usually have plenty of vegetarian fare) people would recommend. Thanks!

There is quite a good Indian restaurant with a big selection (also for vegetarians) in Barrio Alto called Calcuta. They serve lunch and dinner. Next Metro station is Baixa-Chiado (make sure you take the right exit with the long long stair case up). Pass the place Praca Luis Camoes then its on the right hand side. Adress is Rua do Norte 17

Hi!
There is a very good, small and cheap indian restaurant in Praça da Figueira. I don´t remenber the name (I will tell you later). It is easy to miss: it is on a first floor and the door on the street is small, between two shops. Please go there: the food is superb! I`ll come back with the name... Dinora

The name is Cashemira. It is on the north side of the square, next to a clothes shop named Betesga.
Hope you find it! Dinora

Hi, There are many Indian restaurants in Lisbon. I can recommend 2 in the centre of the city : The Montanha Everest, which serves Nepalese food and is situated 2 steps from the Rossio Square, on a narrow street up the largo de S. Domingos, I think the name of the street is Calçada do Garcia, but am not sure 100%. The other one is in the Mouraria district and the name is Delicias de Goa - Specials from the former Portuguese territory in India - very good.
Enjoy your trip to Lisboa.
