Posted: Sat March 22, 2008 10:06 PM UTC
Hi,
I'll go to Yogya with my friend on April. After visit Burabudor on 1st day.
I contact tour office in Yogya for my trip. His rate is IDR 575.000/Per 1 person for
first day
Meeting at Hotel.
•Visit Pawon, Mendut , Ketep Pass Merapi, -
•PRAMBANAN, SEWU, PLAOSAN,
•Ramayana Ballet
Back to Hotel.

and IDR 500.000/Per 1 person for
City Tour
-Kota Gede -Water Castle Taman Sari -Sultan's Palace, -Ngasem –-Beringharjo Market,
finish at the Airport 16.30

This rate include guide, entrance fee, parking fee, private car.
Are there resonable price? I think it's quite expensive ?
Could u please advice?

Hi,

To my judgement the price would be ok if it were for 1 person only. But they should not ask the same amount for the second person. They do not need a second guide and a second car, do they?
So for the second person they might add Rp 100,000 or Rp 150,000 only, making a total of Rp 600,000 to Rp 725,000 per day. Try suggesting that to them.

Regards,
Theo

I agree with Theo- why for only one person- does not make sense.

Using a car and driver to get around the first day would be a good idea because all these places are quite a distance apart. Are you going to see the Borobudur-best time really early morning before sunrise.
Ask again about the price for one day with the car/driver/guide for two persons and see what they say. The proce should be NO more than 750,000 at the maximum.
Do you pay the petrol or do they? Important for you to find this out.

And why would they need to charge you so much just see everything in the city- it is all very close to one another except for Kota Gede.
There must be buses running to Kota Gede catch one.
For the Water Castle, Kraton etc get a becak for 10-15,000 rupiah to take you there.
From my google search the airport sounds like it is only about 10-15 minutes away from the main city area so why not just catch a taxi to the airport.
The trip to the airport should not be anymore than 100,000.
You are right- it is all very expensive.
Pamela.

Thanks Pamela and Theo, i will ask them the rate for second person. I don't know much about tour package price. This time, i'll go there with my friend who quite old age and don't want to travel as backpacker like me.

Thanks again

Email info@borobudurtourandtravel.com for their price. They are located near Borobudur but service Central Java and give very good prices compared to bigger tour companies in Yogya.
