I've been told that it costs the same to make an international call (from the USA) to a cell phone or a landline in Buenos Aires, but I find this difficult to believe. Can anyone confirm please? If it is more expensive to call a cell phone, it is significantly more? Many thanks.

it depends on a lot of things.
some international calling services will charge more to call a cell phone, even in buenos aires. the same may even be true of skype (i'd have to check). but i think if you call directly from a phone in the USA it is the same cost to cell or landline. but don't quote me on that.

as far I know ANYWHERE to call a cell phone is more expensive than a wired phone and it's obvious .... like you at home :-)

It is MUCH more expensive to call an Argentine cell phone as opposed to a land line.
