| Cairo | Egypt to Israel and Back Posted: Sat March 22, 2008 06:41 PM UTC
Hi,
I am intending to visit Egypt this winter and would enter and leave from Cairo. I would also like to spend some days in Israel. I don't thing they have any direct air connection. If you know how I might work this out, I would very much appreciate any suggestions. Thanks a lot. Stan Diamond (travelshow@aol.com) |

There certainly used to be direct air connections, e.g. with Eyptair and El Al, I thought the latter was still flying twice a week from Cairo directly to Tel Aviv (but what research have you done?). There's also a bus between Cairo and Tel Aviv although it's a long journey.
Otherwise you can fly with Royal Jordanian via Amman, but be careful as you might not leave from the same airport and that means entering Jordan rather than merely transiting inside the airport.

Yes, both El Al and Egypt Air fly this route direct, but it is not advertised nor sold on line. It is necessary to purchase a ticket using a travel agent.
As g said, the other choice is Royal Jordanian via Amman. The bus route can take anywhere from 12 to 16 hours...

There are direct flights, Air Sinai not Egypt Air.

Yes, the above is correct. Sorry I didn't mention that Air Sinai is a subsidiary of Egypt Air.

(1) First you have land transport from Cairo to Israel, advantages is that it is much cheaper, disadvantages that it is time consuming and also you might be so tired.
(2) Second choice is flying direct to Israel and you can look egyptair.com to see flights details, advantages it takes almost not more than one hour and disadvantages is just the cost Have nice trip...RoseGirl
