You did not say how old your girls are but I am assuming they can drive. I don't know much about the Plaza Inn. I have heard good things about the Clubhouse Inn though and they are relatively close to each other. A quick check on TripAdvisor showed the Clubhouse Inn ranked 5th (of 131 Albuquerque hotels) and the Plaza Inn 89th.

Since Plaza Inn is between the state trauma center and downtown, the clientèle varies tremendously. All in all not well known for bad folks according to my friends in dispatch. I refer folks to the Plaza as they give a nice family discount for hospitalized patient's families. None of the families I've sent there have come back to tell me I did wrong, but they never said it was fantastic either. I suspect it's decent :)
*BTW gotta wave to Ray! We need to do lunch!!!*

The Plaza has 3 diamonds from AAA so it should be pretty good. It is not located on a busy street and is centrally located. Do your girls have a car and where do they need to go?
The neighborhood is good but somewhat spotty...there's not a good safe (at night) walking path to downtown from there. Should be no prob walking in daytime. Walk to University is nice from there.
