We are cruising and one of our stop for the day is Helsinki. Need some help please on what to see and do for a day on our own.

There is a tourist office bang in the centre of town at Pohjoisesplanadi 19, near the Market Square (Kauppatori) and probably not far from where the cruise ships dock, although I'm not sure exactly where yours will be - you could look on http://www.vr.fi/heo/eng/aika/jatkoyhteydet_hrautatieasema.htm. The circular tram route 3T (3B in the opposite direction) starts nearby, so as soon as you get off the ship you can start doing your own thing. As to WHAT exactly you do, this depends on your interests, I suggest you put helsinki into the search (destination) box at the top of this page to call up a list of travel pages, tips etc. concerning that city, from which to make your selection.
