I hope you get this in time. I think really the best way to get from Beijing to Shenyang is to take the 9hour overnight train. It has some amazing views of the Chinese landscape and truly is a highlight of my trips in China--I have family living in Shenyang, so I've made some trip to Beijing by train. But if you have to (I repeat, HAVE TO) take the plane, there's a few airlines offering direct routes--China Southern Airlines, Air China International and China Eastern Air. Hope that helps. Cheers!

I know the previous post was quite old but I will add some comments nonetheless. The flight from Shenyang to Beijing takes a little over an hour. Cost is around Y760 but can be heavily discounted at times. You can book tickets over the internet with China Airlines or step into any travel agency in China. Taxi from Shenyang airport to the city is around Y80 depending on the traffic.
