I would like to be on Holbox in august and to dive with whale shark . I have PADI certification. Is it possible or snorkling is just possible?

no diving as far as i know.

the gulf is really not for snorkeling, however there are many many places on the caribbean coast for excellent snorkelling.

Only snorkeling is allowed with the whale sharks. The captains and guides have very strict rules to follow if they wish to keep their government certifications.

scuba is not allowed with the whalesharks; nor is touching; august is nearing the end of the whaleshark season but the water should be much clearer and bluer since the plankton will be diminished; i suggest going out with holbox whaleshark tours (rodrigo- owner); right on the beach near the pier; just finished a private boat tour with him and it was excellent ( i'm in hattiesburg, ms); they do it all for you- just show up and enjoy-tell him his hattiesburg friends sent you; the swim is a once in a lifetime experience.
