hi, i am travelling to shenzhen during june 08. will appreciate it if anyone can share their experience on some of my questions belows:-

1)has anyone stayed in Guang Shen Hotel or Shansui Trends Hotel in Luohu District before?

2)is the room pleasant enough to stay?

3)is both the hotels in strategic location (ie, convenient to travel to hongkong and is it in the shopping district)?

3)how far is the hotel to the windows of the world?

and lastly, i am travelling from macau to shenzhen via shekou ferry terminal. do i need to get a visa and where can i get it? i m from malaysia.

You need a visa. Apply for it in Malaysia before you come.

You have informations about the hotels, i made a reservation to the palace hotel last year.
Good room very close to the station, from the station you can use the metro. its an easy way to travel. good trip

Hotel booking: sinohotel is also a good option. You book at home and you pay when checking out.

What do you want to shop in Shenzhen. It's much better (quality) in Hong Kong or go to Guangzhou - very near and easy to go.
Shenzhen: apart of buying Chinese kitch stuff, it's a boring city.

Shansui Trends Hotel - located near Lohuo Checkpoint, abt 15 mins walk from. But never walk there because the traffic is terrible

I think not bad. I said a few couples from Singapore and Malaysia staying there while I was there.
