Hat Yai hat yai to hua hin

Hi
I'm traveling from Singapore to Hua Hin and for the first leg I'm using the VIP bus from Singapore to Hat Yai.
What would be the best way for the next leg.
Ive looked at the train which means a long wait and arriving at Hua Hin in the middle of the night.
I've been told there is a minivan but its a long way and would prefer a VIP bus.
Does anyone know if there are VIP buses and if so where do they leave from. times etc.
I should arrive in Hat Yai about 9.30am I'm told.
thanks in advance for any help.
Bob

Hope you are aware of the serious problems in that part of Thailand. I would not asvise travelling through the border provinces by road. Take a look at the online Thai newspapers for daily reports of bombings and shootings.

Hi Bob,
We (two couples) traveled in the opposite direction from Surat Thani to Hat Yai and then on to Butterworth by Mini Van.We then went back across Malaysia to Kota Baharu to where we wished to go.This was a month ago.
No one ie.Mini-van drivers wanted to take us down the East Coast of Thailand through the Yala Province as this is where the problems are.
Looking at the distance we traveled (three different mini-vans cost 11000 baht)I would think you could get a mini-van with A/C for somewhere like 4-5000 max.
Make sure you spell out to your travel people what you want and get a voucher that has all the details on it.When we got to Hat Yai from Surat Thani they tried to put us on a big bus for the rest of the way.(we could have booked that way ourselves at a lot less cost)
Hope this is a help.
Cheers Brendan

Just an update, got the VIP bus from Singapore bus was ok but not as good as the adds show, arrived at Sadao took a hour maybe to pass through immigration and customs, it was very busy with lots of buses arriving.
on to Hat yai.
I called into a travel agent and there are no VIP buses to Hua hin and the best they could offer was to Bangkok and them travel back to HH or to another town 2 hours away and try to get from there or a local mini van leaving in 15 mins for 800 baht.
sold the van stopped every three hours but was cramped but I made it in a total actual travel time of 26.5 hours.
