| Beijing | Condos Posted: Fri March 21, 2008 02:44 AM UTC
So i'm all set, i have everything i need for a great trip to China in May. However, when i'm on the beijing leg of my trip, i was hoping to rent a condo (for 2-3 days..), or someplace that will provide me with a kitchen and cooking utensils. (pots and pans, etc..) I will have italian withdrawals, if i dont cook up some pasta. haha. so if anyone knows of, or would like to recommend a place i could stay at in beijing (the more centrally located the better as this is a vacation) thanks for any help!

Marco Polo brought noodles back from Cathay and they became spaghetti.

Eh? There're lots of restaurants where you could get good Italian pasta.

Lee Gardens, Hua Wei Business, and Luxury Serviced Apartment Hotel(Ascott International)have apartments to rent on a daily basis. There are a ton more but those are the three that come to my mind immediately. There is at least one timeshare in Beijing as well through Inteval International.

I tried Lee Gardens, Luxury and Somerset Svc Apt. I feel that Luxury gives the best value for money in terms of space and location. Its off the main Wangfujing area but still very convenient as it is near a subway station and mins away from Tiananmen and Wangfujing by the subway. Near silk market also

I highly recommend the Qian Yuan International Hotel on Dongzhimen. The hotel is right on the "ghost" street that is known as the restaurant street. It is close to the subway and getting a taxi is easy. We booked the business room via ratestogo.com for $66/night. The package includes breakfast and internet. Our rooms are large and comfortable. Each room has a kitchenette consisted of stove, microwave, and fridge. The single room does not come with the kitchenette. You can go online to the hotel website and see the pictures of the rooms. If you book a kingsize bed in the business room, you get a nice large area with a table and 2 chairs in the kitchen to sit and eat your meal. The twin business room has the kitchenette but no area to sit to eat. The rooms are large...about 50sq meter. The 7th floor is a nonsmoking floor. Our twin business room was rm#704. The view from our room was awesome. All the rooms comes with large floor to ceiling windows. HIGHLY recommend this hotel. There is a market right downstairs on the first floor. Price is pretty cheap, too. We love our stay there more than staying down on Wangfujing. The restaurants and stores there open late and just feel very safe walking around. Not much foreigner/tourist in the area, and that what made it more fun. Across the street from the hotel is a mom & pop dumpling place (you can see them steaming their dumpling ourside). The 5 of us has breakfast there for around 24rmb. Book online to get the cheaper rate. If you go there, the rate is almost $200/night. Definitely stay at this hotel again.
