Florence Pitti Palace

Do you think it would be wise to book a ticket for the Pitti Palace prior to our arrival? I didn't know how long the lines would be and also if we have to pay seperatly to enter the gardens...??

DEar Frens ... no need to book here, but for sure it's ALWAYS be good if you book a ticket. Last time, I didn't book a ticket even I travel during a weekend here.

Check carefully because when I went (Sep. '07), it was free the morning I visited (Saturday) the Palace/Gardens (I don't know if it was just that day or every Saturday, or every weeekend...)

The queue may be long on weekend, or easter holiday and so on. In this case advance booking can save you a bit of time.
Just a bit because for security reasons you have to queue AGAIN after you get the tickets, to pass through a metal detector.
Once inside the courtyard you could have one more (shorter) line to enter the gardens.

In Palazzo Pitti are located several Museums and Galleries, whose collections range from porcelains to modern art. Every one has a specific ticket (but the most share the same ticket).

to check every museum entrance fee and opening hours give a look at this site:
