| Verona | Trains from Milan to Venice Posted: Thu March 20, 2008 03:52 PM UTC
My partner and I are flying into Milan quite late on a Friday night.
We cannot find accommodation so plan to head straight to Verona via train instead. Can anyone tell me the last train to Verona? |

trenitalia.it - for all your Italian rail needs!
It depends how late is late - it seems there is a train at 00:25 (assuming you're going from M. Centrale) that will get you there which is the last until the next morning. Have you tried to find somewhere to stay around the airport you're arriving at? Which airport is it?

The trenitalia website now redirects you to www.ferroviedellostato.it/
There is a link in the top right-hand corner for the English version. If you miss the 00:25 train, the next one is at 06:00.

"Last Train to Verona" - wasn't that a spaghetti Western? ;-)
Note that trains that depart Milan at 21:15, 22:15 and 00:25 are all regional trains, so there are no reservations available or even possible - if you can stand, you can get on (although after a couple of hours of standing after midnight, you may regret not getting that hotel room ;-) ). That is, you can wait until you get to the train station to buy the tickets. Also note that if you are flying into Malpensa (the bigger airport) that it will probably take you 1.5 hours (or more) to get from your plane to Milano Centrale train station, counting time waiting for your luggage, immigration and customs (if that applies to you), waiting for the next bus (15-20 minutes, I think), and the hour ride downtown...
