Stockholm extended stay
Posted: Thu March 20, 2008 11:46 AM UTC
Hi! I will be visiting some family in Stockholm. Actually in the suburbs. A hotel is too small for 2 adults and 3 kids. Is there a place to see if anyone rents out private furnished homes or apartments? There are no apartment hotels in the area. All are in Kista or Bromma. I need to be around Tumba, Slagsta or about 5 trains stops away. There doesnt seem to be any options.

Hi,
the situation with housing is a bit crazy in Stockholm, many more people want to live here than there are houses and flats. So it is probably going to be hard to find something with furniture for short term rent.

I think your best bet is to ask your relatives to help you out and look around locally where they live.

There is a Scanic hotel in Kungens Kurva (not far from Tumba) that has family rooms, 2 normal beds and one bunk bed (4 beds in total) and also they have rooms that are connected with a door so that they form one big room.

There is also the Prince Phillip hotel at Kungens Kurva. Alternatively you can also try Ibis Hägersten which is usually cheaper than most hotels.
