Osaka Travel Forum

Hi... I'm planning a 6D5N trip to Osaka sometime in May08. A few must do's are visit a famous temple, Osaka Aquarium, a popular park, stay in a hot spring resort, shopping, Geisha performance and lots of raw fish eating...
Can anyone recommend which temple, which park, which hot spring resort, which Geisha performance & which good reasonable pricing restaurants should I go to in Osaka?
Is it recommended that I allocate a day or two to go to Kyoto/Kobe/Nara/Himeji? If yes, what should I do there and where best to stay 1 night?

I agree with K...unless you have a particular reason for staying in Osaka you will find Kyoto the better base. If you are stuck on Osaka, then definitely have Kyoto as your 1 night stay. There is so much to see and do there, and you can go to Gion corner for your Geisha peformance. Also do not miss Himeji. It is spectacular.

I understand that Osaka do not have much place to visit.But I heard they have a lot of shopping area and such. I have to agreed with the other, it is better to stay in Kyoto longer than Osaka. Kyoto have so much more to see and they have some festival on May.(I have some photo from my last year trip to japan-go to my page)
I be going to Japan in November and this is my plan. Stay 4 day in Osaka because 1st day you can't do much as flight from KL will reach at night, spend 2 day in Osaka then on 4th day go to kyoto.Stay in Kyoto until the 6th day, then take bus to Tokyo.And stay 6 day in Tokyo because I love Tokyo so much.
