| Orlando | silver lake resort kissimmee Florida Posted: Thu March 20, 2008 02:09 AM UTC
My wife & I (50 yr olds)will be staying at the Silver Lake Resort Kissimmee, Florida between 22 and 28 June 2008. The onto Ft Lauderdale for 4 days.
1. Any feedback regarding the resort will be helpful. 2. Is a car absolutely essential to move around Florida? Who to rental from? 3. Suggested places to see and go to without trying to do too much and without breaking the bank. 4. Any other suggestions will be helpful. Thanks |

Yes, you really do need to rent a car. Sorry, but not sure I can help with your other questions.

It looks like your resort is a few minutes away from where we were. I wouldn't think you will get much done without a car. There are shuttle buses to the main parks from some of the local motels but you would still have to get to the pick up points. Don't be put off by the driving it is really easy. However if you are dead set against driving check out some taxi firms, it is several years ago now but my brother in law gave up his hire car in favour of a taxi and managed to get the same driver every day - he reckons it cost him less as well??? You are only there for a few days so you could just chill at your resort as you are bound to have a pool and if you like eating out there are endless places along the road. You will not be far from Medieval Times dinner show if you fancy that.
