Charlottesville Gift Certificates

We are not from Charlottesville. My brother and his wifew have just retired and built a new home there. We would like to send them a couple of gift certificates to try out some local fair. How may we do that?

Why not Google for stores in Charlottesville, choose one you may have heard about like Sears, or whatever, email or ring them to enquire about buying and having Gift Certifiactes sent to your relatives.
Good Luck.

If they like to eat out you might check on chowhound.com to see what the recommended restaurants are and then contact them directly about purchasing gift certificates. There is also a nice performance theater, the Paramount Theater, that has an eclectic mixture of national acts. They may also have gift certificates available (www.theparamount.net)

I'd just e-mail the Charlotesville Chamber of Commerce to get a listing of restaurants, stores, etc- there are most major east coast chains available. I can personally vouch for Michie Tavern and the Boar's Head Inn Restaurant- unique surroundings and fabulous food. Ask the chamber site about places in the surrounding counties, also. Sissy Spacek and Robert Duvall also have farms in that area- who knows, they might see them at the local diner!

Then, I'd just call the establishments you select, ask them to mail gift certificates and pay by credit card. If your relatives are just moving into VA, you could also ask about "Made in Virginia" products- and have a basket of goodies sent- everything from country ham, to apple butter, to peanuts, etc. There are also local vineyards- Prince Michel is one that a lot of people like.

sorry- I forgot about Bodo's Bagels- several shops in the area, fresh, sell out quickly each day, good soups, friendly service.
