| Libya | Three questions Posted: Wed March 19, 2008 01:13 AM UTC
We were thinking of going to Libya to visit husband's family. All visa info I've read on this board so far involves tourist companies, how does it work (for Americans) with family over there/letter of invite - we would be group of 4? Also husband was born in Libya, is U.S. citizen now, what is he considered in Libya? Last question, just curious; read the post below about Israelis, what about (non-Israeli) Jews, what is attitude there? Thanks

You really need to seek professional advice on this from a Libyan embassy or consular service. I know it is very difficult for Americans to get Libyan visas ( a reciprocated arrangement). You might start by reading the advice given on this website
http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_951.html Your husband would have to travel on a Libyan passport and although he may be permitted to enter on an expired document, he would not be permitted to leave on one. leyle
