| Dublin | bus at night & accomodation Posted: Tue March 18, 2008 11:19 PM UTC
Hello, it's me again!
The plane will land at 23.25 and I wonder if I will be able to find buses to reach the accomodation (if only i will find one). I am thinking about this one http://www.eganshouse.com/map.html Address: 7, Iona Park Glasnevin Dublin 9 They say the bus stop is Drumcondra and the buses from the aiport are 41A, 41B, 41C, 746, 16A. 1) can anyone check if it's correct? 2) can anyone check which is the last bus possible for me on Friday night? Thank you very much to everybody will help me or just try! Regards, Sergio |

http://www.dublinbus.ie/home/ has all bus timetables.
If you enter 'drumcondra' you'll get all the buses which service it, and then you can click on the bus number to see the timetable. There is a night bus: I suspect this is what you will have to take (or a taxi). You are not likely to be in Dublin centre much before 0100.

Sorry to break it you Juzz but normal buses will be finished at that time, you will be looking at a bus to the centre and a taxi. www.DublinBus.ie will work for your return and details of the 747 & 748.
www.aircoach.ie is the other website. Depending what time you clear customs and collect your bag 747 is your best option at 6 EUR to center. aircoach is 7 euro and runs all night, 747 finishes about 12:45. Both drop you on o Connell Street where it should be easy to get a taxi, 747 is slightly faster as it takes the tunnel, but not much difference as roads will be quite empty at that time of night. Both are directly outside door of airport on opposite sides of the road.

Egans House should be fine and their map, directions and bus info are all correct. As you are arriving late it would be easiest to get a taxi straight to Egans. It should cost under €20 but check before you get in and ask for a receipt. If there are buses running late from the airport check if they stop on Drumcondra road, if they don't then just get a taxi otherwise you will waste time and money getting a non-stop bus into the city centre and getting a taxi back to your accomodation.

Thank you all very much!
I am just checking the website, route 41: http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/viewer.asp?pl They say: SWORDS MANOR 10 mins. Swords Village 15 mins. Airport 16 mins. Omni Shopping Centre 13 mins. Drumcondra Station 10 mins. Parnell Square East 4 mins. LOWER ABBEY STREET 1) Does it mean it takes 10+15=25 minutes from SWORDS MANOR to the Airport? In the column "Monday to Friday" the last bus is at 2330. 2) If that time is for buses leaving from SWORDS MANOR, i should have the bus at 23.55 at the airport, am I right? 2bis) I should be at Drumcondra Station 23.55 + 16 + 13 = 00.24, right? 3) Are these timetable reliable? 4) Is "Drumcondra Station" ok for me? Thanks again for your help! Sergio

Sorry Sergio but you have to be realistic you will not make thse buses, they finish too early, think a 747 or aircoach bus and taxi would be cheapest option
