Ciudad Acuna much like Piedras Negras is not as dangerous as say, Nuevo Laredo a bit further to the east. I still would be careful at night. for a day visit from the texas side it is perfectly safe..

Cuidad Acuna is safe. I go there all the time and have never once had a problem. I don't just stick to the tourist areas either.

I didn't know Acuna was a tourist stop. I'll admit that when I was there forty years ago, while in the Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Acuna was just a whore house, also known as Boys Town.

Boys town is still there, but it an isolated area on the eastern edge of town.
The main drag as you cross the bridge is very much a tourist destination. Marc
