I know it is 56 kms from Bern (all motorway) but would Interlaken be an option?

Hi,
How about Thun or Biel which are both about 30min. away by train ? As far as I know the ticket includes the public service on the day of the match.

Camping in Switzerland is really pleasant and very clean. I know you said you would rather not, but depending on how booked the hotels are you may have to camp. Have you looked at hostels in Bern? I stayed at Bern Backpackers and loved it. I agree with the suggestion of looking at Thun. It's very close to Bern and it's also a very beautiful town.
Good luck!

Hi Ron
If you look at the following website there are many options including private rooms. With 5 persons you might have difficulties to stay at the same place together and I have no idea how much everthing is already booked. http://euro08-bern.ch/?tkw=uebernachten But if you google: euro 08 bern unterkunft ,you will get plenty of options beside the normal hotel booking options. There is an initiative where privat people offer beds all over Switzerland for moderate prices. Probably a good opportunity get to know a few locals too. Good luck
